Magic Bars Recipe

Magic Bars: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C) and place the rack in the center of the oven. Line a 9 inch (23 cm) square baking pan with foil and then butter the foil.

Place the graham cracker crumbs in a bowl. Add the melted butter and stir to combine. Press the crumb mixture evenly over the bottom of the prepared pan.

Next, sprinkle the coconut over the crumbs. Follow that by sprinkling the chocolate chips and butterscotch chips (if using) over the coconut. Then sprinkle the nuts over the butterscotch chips. Finally, evenly drizzle the sweetened condensed milk over all the ingredients. Do not mix the ingredients together, just layer them.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown and set and a toothpick inserted into the middle of the bars comes out clean. Remove from oven and place on a wire rack to cool. Cut into bars. Store in the refrigerator. These bars can be frozen.

Makes about 25 bars.
